Introduction

I am Bronke, clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist.
You may have found my website while looking for support to break patterns, face challenges, or simply out of curiosity. The question “What does a psychologist do?” has no single answer. What I can tell you is: who I am, and why I became a psychologist.

I am both adventurous and calm. As a teenager I loved discovering new cultures but found my peace at home with a good book. At 18, I went to Bolivia alone, and even though I could have travelled the whole of Latin-America, I preferred to stay in my new home city— grounded in connection.

Becoming a psychologist was not a childhood dream but grew from one question: “Why do people see, think, and feel differently while experiencing the same thing?” This led me to study Clinical and Health Psychology, and later specialize in neuropsychology. Exploring the link between brain and behavior gives me tools to help when people feel stuck in worry, hypersensitivity, or emotional flatness.

My search for answers continues, but my focus now is supporting you in finding new perspectives, different ways of thinking, and greater well-being. I believe in simplicity, efficiency, and comfort. That is why I also offer online consultations: accessible, personal, and effective.

Education

I obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical and Health Psychology at KU Leuven, graduating with distinction in January 2022. During my integrated clinical internship, I worked at UPC Gasthuisberg, and completed a research internship at the Neuropsychiatry Research Group of the KU Leuven Brain Institute. My master’s thesis was a literature review comparing theoretical accounts of affect: Determinants of the Valence Dimension of Affect according to Appraisal Theories and the Reference Value Theory.

In 2023, I completed the basic training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a third-wave behavioral therapy focusing on acceptance, mindfulness, and value-based action.

From 2023–2025, I pursued an interuniversity postgraduate program in Clinical Neuropsychology, with a thesis on PTSD: Let’s Talk About It: The Neuropsychological Jargon of Narrative Exposure Therapy.

Work experience

After my internship at UPC Gasthuisberg, I gained further experience in clinical neuropsychological diagnostics at regional hospitals. This experience also led me to teach as a guest lecturer in the postgraduate program in Neurological Care at Vives University of Applied Sciences and UCLL.

Since 2022, I have been working in various group practices as a freelance clinical (neuro)psychologist. I support adults (18+) with a wide range of concerns. My expertise lies mainly in stress-related difficulties, including burnout and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as ADHD, depressive and anxiety symptoms, and self-esteem. If you are unsure whether I can help with your specific needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Working Together

Therapy starts with one or more intake sessions. These conversations allow us to get to know each other, clarify your questions, and define your goals. During this phase, I usually suggest meeting every two weeks.

From there, we begin the therapeutic process in which we explore your thoughts, emotions, and concerns. Therapy can sometimes feel confronting, but together we work toward new perspectives and insights. My approach is grounded in behavioral and neuropsychological frameworks, but above all it is about exploring together what works for you. The frequency of sessions depends on your needs, with regular evaluations to reflect on progress.

Finally, therapy also has an ending phase, with one or more sessions to reflect on what we achieved together and to give the process a meaningful closure.

We use QIT online, a secure platform designed for psychological care. Here you can access your file, complete exercises or questionnaires, and join your online video sessions with just one click. QIT also allows us to exchange documents and messages, all encrypted to guarantee privacy.
